Hedgehogs
Unfortunately the fate of a baby hedgehog in Norfolk, Virginia. He was born without a sharp thorns, which is characteristic of hedgehogs in general. Not only that, the baby hedgehog that was abandoned by his family alone.
Betty, the hedgehog was named by a member of the animal rescue center.
Specialist doctors are now being studied with animal skin condition that this strange Betty.
Betty who was only six weeks now look different and may be scary hedgehog-hedgehog others.
However, he can not be released to the wild because of disability in itself. Without thorns, Betty was unable to defend themselves against predators such as raccoons and foxes.
"Betty is actually a healthy condition and all of his organ works normally, only he did not thorny," said Tonia (47) from an animal rescue center Foxy Lodge, Norfolk, as reported by Dailymail, Tuesday (05/24/2011).
"So we will not let Betty live freely in nature because he would be attacked by predators. He would have shunned other hedgehog because of its strange. Even he will not get a male porcupine couple," he added.
Betty Unfortunately, he will live with solitude.
